HOMEWORK:
Homework is given Monday through Thursday. It will consist of two parts: a daily worksheet and a weekly reading record sheet. Your child will take home a worksheet every day and it is due the next day. Reading record sheets are due the following Monday. After you and your child have checked the homework and you have helped correct any errors, please sign your name so I know that you and your child have checked it. Please have your child use pencil to complete any writing. This way, errors can be erased and corrections can be made. Provide your child with a designated time and place with minimal distractions for homework. Supplies that your child will need for a variety of homework assignments include pencils, crayons, glue or gluestick. scissors, a ruler and a deck of standard of standard playing cards for math games.
HOMEWORK FOLDERS:
The worksheets and reading record sheets will be brought home in a Homework folder. The inside pockets are labeled “LEFT at home” and “bring RIGHT back.” Newsletters, letters from the office and notes from me will be put on the left side and worksheets and reading record sheets will be put on the right side. Even though reading record sheets aren’t due until the following week, have your child keep it on the right side so it will be there every day to complete with the worksheet. I will take these out of the folders the following Monday and replace it with a new one. Please check your child’s folder daily as this will be a source of communication. You can also send notes to me through this folder. Please have your child bring the folder back every day.
